Howard Huskey, Executive Director

Before joining Cascades Theatrical Company, Howard was a successful entrepreneur, business owner, building contractor, real estate investor, family man.  His business experience includes ownership in an auto electrical business, a marketing consulting firm, a sportswear business, a restaurant, two car dealerships, a kitchen remodel business.  He was a certified home inspector and co-owned a cabinet shop.  Howard’s diverse business experience made him the perfect fit to strengthen our community theatre.

Christine Mehner, Board President

Chris earned her BA and Master of Fine Arts degree in Theatre with a specialization in Motion Picture Production from the University of California, Los Angeles, graduating summa cum laude.  She is an award-winning independent filmmaker (Gold, Silver, & Bronze Medals Houston Int’l Fest; Amblin Entertainment Focus Award, Cine Golden Eagle, to name a few) and her films have screened at film festivals all over the world, art galleries, including the Smithsonian Institute Renwick Art Gallery, the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute, and the Columbus Museum of Art.  One film was chosen to screen at the Director’s Guild of America to honor Bernardo Bertolucci in his Retrospective Film Event.

Dorothy West, Vice President

Dorothy works with others to shift from limiting views to limitless possibilities.
When 2 or more gather to create from passion, genius and vision, you’ll find
Dorothy ready to engage. Her vision and clarity, combined with years of
entrepreneurial success and training groups, create a powerhouse of energy that
empowers others to realize potential. Primarily a Systems Coach, Dorothy works
with social entrepreneurs and innovative leaders and their teams, community
groups, as well as individuals who are motivated to create positive impact in their
lives and the world. She has launched, grown and sustained global communities
of educators, coaches, peacemakers and leaders. Dorothy leads innovative,
interactive events globally, virtually and at home in the areas of consciousness,
quantum physics, and reality creation. She mentors coaches and is a respected
thought leader in her field. Her path has been paved with extraordinary learning
and experiences. She is graduated and certified by Co-Active Training Institute
(CTI), Organization and Relationship Systems Coaching (ORSC), Evolutionary
Coaching (The Visionary Network). Her education also includes Worldwork-
Large Group Transformation- Arnold Mindell, Neuroplasticity and Reality
Creation- Dr. Joe Dispenza Specific to CTC- Strengths: facilitating clear,
collaborative conversations, developing co-creative processes, clarifying
objectives, connecting activity to vision.

Gloria Hegidio, Board Vice President

Florida native and now retired Speech Language Pathologist, Gloria recently joined the Board in December 2019. She recently played in A Gift to Remember and The Philadelphia Story, and has also been cast in such productions as: The Eccentricities of a Nightingale, Star-Spangled Girl, Wallys Café, and A Little Night in Music.

 

Cricket Daniel, Board Member

Playwright and producer Cricket Daniel is an Instructor for our Cascade Teen Theatre Program and joined the CTC Board in 2021. Cricket hails from California and holds a theater degree from UC Santa Barbara. Cricket’s stage plays have been produced across the United States and she also produces the annual 24/SEVEN Theater Project here in Bend. Cricket is also a 2012 recipient of an Arts, Beautification, and Culture Award for her contribution to local theater and is a member of The Dramatist Guild of America. Cricket and her husband moved to Bend in 1995 and owned Daniel Automotive for 16 years. Cricket and her husband Jason are also parents to a beautiful and mouthy teenage daughter named Spencer.

Michael Futterman, Treasurer

Michael has served on the Board since 2014, and was introduced to CTC by his son, Will.  Michael is a retired real estate executive with substantial Board experience, serving on the Boards of Avalon Bay Communities, a real estate investment trust, Dollar Dry Dock Savings Bank of New York, American Realty Capital (a real estate investment and finance company), and the nonprofit organization The International Center of Photography of New York. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Carnegie-Mellon and a JD from Georgetown Law. Michael has a major interest in CTC corporate governance, fund-raising, membership and finance. Michael resides with his wife, Cornelia, in Wellington, Florida, spends summers in Bend, and, when not in Bend, participates in Board meetings telephonically.

Gneel Costello, Board Member

Gneel Costello is a cinematographer-producer and a longtime resident of Bend
Oregon. His first micro budget Indy film got the attention of Hollywood executives
who went on to finance his second feature film, which was acquired by Blumhouse.

Mara McCloskey-Becker, Board Member

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, and spent most of her life dreaming of being
surrounded by old growth trees and waterfalls. In 2001, she relocated to the Pacific
Northwest to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree at Evergreen State College in
Olympia, Washington. Later, she earned her degree in Audio Production and Radio
Broadcasting. She held internships in theater, radio, and television, and landed a job
as a camera operator and floor director for a live lifestyle show on KOIN 6 TV in
Portland, Oregon. From there she became a full-time video editor for the news
department and after exploring that opportunity for years she relocated to Bend,
Oregon in 2014. Mara decided to utilize her passion for audio production and visual
arts in a different capacity by starting a new career in marketing. Today, Mara is the
Marketing Director for BendTel, the largest locally owned and operated telephone
and internet provider in Bend. Mara likes to recharge and challenge herself by
exploring the great outdoors, pursuing creative opportunities, volunteering in the
community and going to plays. For the last year and a half Mara has attended every
main stage performance put on by CTC and is excited by the prospect to become
more involved with this incredibly talented and inviting theatrical community.
