MEET THE CAST

Perry Scott Schwarz as Ebeneezer Scrooge

A year ago to date, the 25-year nap was over. I wrestled down monsters and like Scrooge, grapple with the loss of time. Since returning to the only work I love, I’ve played Bill French in Grand Horizons, Doc Baugh in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Dennis Dupre in Rock of Ages, and now, the iconic role of Scrooge. Like Scrooge, I’m witnessing a transformation I didn’t see coming. Like Scrooge, I’ve tasted the bitterness of regret in love and life. And now, with all the flavors changing, just like Scrooge, love of life is beautiful again.

Tom Kelley as Narrator / Tiny Tim

Tom Kelley has always enjoyed acting beginning in his High School days back in Massachusetts. He has been fortunate to have been in many fine shows here at CTC and with the Sunriver Stars since 2014 after a 40 year role staring as a HS Chemistry teacher. Tom is excited to be part of presenting this hilarious, slightly “Fractured Fairytale”, of Scrooge after having been in the cast for the more traditional version eight years ago. This is all made possible by his wonderful wife Ann who puts up with crazy rehearsal schedules and shouting in the other room as he learns lines and songs.

Tracy Miller as Saint Sister / Jennie

Tracy is psyched for this double role: cast member/show costumer. Recent theatre adventures: At CTC, as Nancy French in Grand Horizons and costumer (Cat On A Hot Tin Roof); Ellipse Theatre Community, set dresser (Lifespan of a Fact), costumer (Last Train to Nibroc); Silent Echo Theatre Co., Director (Crimson Eyes); Deschutes Theatre Co., Jo (Women in Jeopardy). Several of MeCho Productions (stagehand). FYI’s: Favorite show costumed: 2nd Street’s Young Frankenstein; most challenging costume TMP’s Steel Tin Man; favorite Pro gig: laundry wench touring production of The Lion King. Thanks Meta, Wayne, Jules and Richard for getting this ball rolling.

Aaron Hinkley as Bob Cratchit

Aaron has lived in the area of Bend now for about 5 years. Hailing from Michigan, he always dreamed of being out west in search of nature adventures and a calmness that goes with it. Since being out, he has found a calling in working with youth at a local non profit. This is the first gig that Aaron has searched out to be a part of. More or less it actually found him walking out of an appointment one day. All things aligned and here he is. It’s not his first time being on a stage though. He has taken some time to find himself in the stand up comedy world as well as some improv comedy. He is excited to try this as this is something he has always wanted to venture towards since his high school days.

Rick Jenkins as Weather Man / Ghost of Christmas Past / Mourner

After a 30-year hiatus, Rick returned to acting several decades ago as Willie Clark in The Sunshine Boys. He recently appeared at CTC as Reverend Tooker in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Cheswick in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and Selsdon Mowbray in Noises Off!; Other favorite roles include Nat Burton in Garden Politics and Buckingham in Richard III. Favorite CTC roles include Saunders in Lend Me a Tenor, Sir Peter Teazle in School for Scandal, and the Butler in An Ideal Husband.

Ed Mierjeski as Jacob Marley

Ed is back again following his recent appearance at CTC in Neil Simon’s comedy Rumors playing Ernie Cusack, a NYC psychiatrist, alongside his stage wife Cookie, a one-person wonder whether in the kitchen or on the dance floor! He now returns from the dead as the ghost of Jacob Marley to hopefully save his former business partner Ebenezer Scrooge before it’s too late! When not running “middle of the night” errands, Ed enjoys gardening, baking, photography, Pilates & other various fitness classes, as well as spending time with his family. Ed is grateful for all the talented people who came together to allow this holiday story nurture and/or reawaken our best selves for the betterment of our larger community, be that small or large. Thanks for coming, and enjoy the show!

Jaime Speed as Saint Sister

Jaime Speed spends her time teaching 5th-8th graders, being a mom, and showing up on various stages in town. Some of her favorite roles have been ensemble in Les Miserables, Judy in 9 to 5, Elizabeth in Young Frankenstein, Martha in Heathers, the Musical, M’Lynn in Steel Magnolias, King Lear in King Lear, and Suzy in Winter Wonderettes. David “Owl” Chen as Nephew Fred

David “Owl” Chen is honored to appear in Ebenezer Scrooge’s Big Bend Christmas Show!, one of the most fast-paced and joyful productions he’s been part of. A lifelong admirer of live theatre, Owl brings a traveler’s perspective and an artist’s heart to his work, exploring the depth of human experience through every role he portrays. Recent credits include Lucifer and the Father (as Joseph) and the world premiere of Voiceless: A Musical.
