Cricket Daniel’s The Night Before The Night Before Christmas

Lou has wrestled with a big ball of tangled Christmas lights for the last time! He is grabbing the sunblock, his Elvis in Paradise album and his wife Carol, and hopping on the Pineapple Express to Hawaii! Escaping New Jersey, the freezing cold, his nutty family and most of all, The Holidays, is exactly what Lou plans to do. However, a freak snowstorm leaves the couple stranded in the airport and their dream of sipping Pina Coladas on the beach is in peril. Will a couple of unexpected characters help restore Lou’s Christmas Spirit in the St. Nick of time?

MEET THE CAST

Richard relocated to Bend, from Southern California, in 2007. His first play was Sordid Lives at the 2nd Street Theater. He has now been a part of nearly 20 productions, including 4 plays here on the CTC stage. He is proud to be part of this cast which will be breathing life into this “unique” family, which our local playwright, Cricket Daniel, created. He knows our audiences will be transformed by the love, laughter, and Christmas magic of this seasonal gem.

Cricket has not performed in a play for over 20 years.  So, if you see her trembling on stage, now you know why.  Cricket moved to Bend in 1995 from Santa Barbara and has been freezing ever since.  She has been married to her very patient hubby Jason for 29 years and is the proud Mama to their amazing daughter Spencer, who is a sophomore at OSU – Go Beavs!  She is also addicted to Pickleball and is currently seeking help.  Cricket hopes that everyone enjoys the show and leaves here tonight with the true meaning of Christmas….to believe.

A native Oregonian, Trina grew up in Ivory Coast (W. Africa) and where she captivated audiences as Snow White in a middle years musical. As fun as it was, she drew the line at being kissed by the prince. Trina remained active in the theater in both high school and university, appearing in several productions that are too obscure to list here. In 2001, she moved overseas to work as a teacher (English Literature) and librarian in 6 different countries (if you want to know which ones, she’s always happy to talk about her travels). Once again, the theater bug caught up to her and she directed a number of shows in each country (The Jungle Book; You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown; The Music Man, to name a few). Having this opportunity to perform at Cascade Theater Co. is a dream she didn’t know she had; she tried out on a whim and got the second funnest role in the play (her opinion).

Penelope is returning to the stage after a nine year hiatus and is excited to be back. This is her first ever production at CTC. It has been an absolute blast working with this crazy cast of kooks and bringing a bit of Christmas spirit to the season. Keep it jolly and watch out for Christmas Fruit Cake, it really isn’t good.

Jameson has been spreading Christmas cheer the whole year, with recent productions at CTC and Tower Theatre. However, his villainous side came out as Professor Leak during a Super Plumber ad campaign. Don’t tell Santa or he’ll be put on the naughty list! Jameson has been pursuing acting on stage and in film since high school, and plans to make it into his career. He fills his downtime with his Yugioh business and speed solving the Rubik’s Cube. Check him out on the smaller screen on his YouTube channel, Rubiksguy!

Robert is no stranger to the Community Theater stage, as this is his 3rd production at CTC in the last 2 years, performing in Shakespeare in Hollywood & You Can’t Take it with You). Starting with his 1st role in the 5th grade and in every state and community that he has lived in, his numerous roles have proven him to be a Man of many Characters. He credits his Mother who was a teacher and a solo Singer / Guitar player as his inspiration and early source of encouragement. It is his greatest Wish that you find this endearing Christmas Holiday Story as a reminder of the importance of living in Peace, with Love, and Aloha for All.

MEET THE CREW

Raechel is excited to be a part of her favorite Christmas play AGAIN for the 3rd time! She is slightly biased to Cricket Daniel plays and has done all of them. She recently directed sold out shows for Rocky Horror and Shock Treatment Drag Show at Open Space Studios and Queen Lear for Shakespeare in the park with Guerilla Shakespeare along with over 10+ yrs experience in all aspects of the stage. She loves working with this cast of beautiful humans to bring the Christmas spirit to our community and each other. May you find your own Christmas spirit this holiday season and thank you for supporting our theater community. Happy Holidays!

This is Geena’s first production with CTC and first time assisting the directors behind the scenes. She previously has had experience from high school theater and acting in plays such as The Mousetrap. She is a pediatric physical therapist by day and a passionate baker in her off time. She is excited to return to the theater to support an excellent cast this holiday season!

Special Thanks
